Product Overview
-
Sifalumin No 15 is a aluminium alloy with 5% silicon, offering excellent flow characteristics and penetration.(not for magnesium alloys) Sifalumin No 15 has a lower melting point and more fluidity than the 5 series filler alloys, and is preferred by most welders because it "wets and flows better" and it’s less sensitive to weld cracking when used on the 6xxx series base alloys.

Suitable for welding duralumin cast (LM25) and wrought aluminium alloys such as 6063 (H9), 6061 (H20) and 6082 (H30).
Welding on 6xxx series alloys typical applications include automotive/motorcycle frames, sports products – scooters/bicycles, general repair and maintenance.
Sifalumin No 15 should not be used if you are considering the best colour match after post weld anodizing, as this filler alloy will typically turn dark gray in colour after the anodizing process.
Predominantly used during the TIG welding process, welding current AC using shielding gases such as argon at 5-10 l/min, Helium at 8-16 l/min or Argon/Helium mix at 5-10 l/min
Can be used Oxy Acetylene welding processes, If used with Oxy Acetylene use the Sif No. 36 aluminium brazing and welding flux.
