Facts About SHOWA Biodegradable Nitrile Gloves:
The Worlds First Biodegradable Nitrile Glove. The "Eco Best Technology" (EBT) organic additive is added to each glove. Gloves offer high performance hand protection for many tasks. The glove’s shelf life is unaffected by EBT. Non-contaminated gloves can be sent to landfill.
How it biodegrades in landfill:
EBT makes the glove attractive to microbial activity. The gloves are digested by microbes and turned into biogasses and nitrous soil.
Biodegradation rates:
Within 6 months the gloves are 20% biodegraded. After 5 years (depending on landfill conditions) the gloves are entirely degraded. Without EBT this process would take over 100 years.
Business Benefits:
Promotes Sustainability
Boosts Environmental Performance
Reduces Glove Treatment Costs
Supports Green Purchasing Policies
About AQL:
AQL stands for ‘Actual Quality Level’. An AQL result of 1.5 suggests that there are less than 1.5% of products within the batch that are defective.
An important consideration regarding AQL is that the lower the AQL number rating, the greater barrier protection the wearer will have.
The most common AQL numbers in the UK and Europe are 1.5 and 4.0. However, there are also gloves available that meet AQL levels as low as 1.0 and even 0.65 giving the wearer the highest levels of protection.
