    FAQs

    Is the Makita DTD152Z brushless?

No, the Makita DTD152Z is not brushless. It uses a brushed motor. While brushless motors are generally preferred for their efficiency, longevity, and power, brushed motors are still common in some tools, especially those aimed at a more budget-conscious market.

What’s the difference between green Makita and blue Makita?

This is a more recent line of tools from Makita specifically designed with outdoor use, these are typically green. Both the blue and green Makita tools generally use the same battery platform (mainly the 18V LXT system). This means you can often use the same batteries across both lines.

Can a Makita impact driver take off lug nuts?

Whilst you may be able to remove lug nuts with a Makita Impact Driver, it’s generally not considered the tool for the job. Most impact drivers use a 1/4" drive, which isn’t as robust as the 1/2" drive found on impact wrenches designed for lug nuts.

What is the maximum torque for the DTD152?

The Makita DTD152Z has a maximum torque of 165 Nm (Newton-meters). This is the maximum torque the tool can produce. The actual torque delivered will vary depending on the application and the type of fastener being used.
