Unlike Polyurethane adhesives which are messy, turn hands black and take forever to clean up, Griffon Wood Max Express offers improved final bond strength – (over 1 tonne per 10cm²) compared to other single part adhesives with none of the disadvantages of PU.
The unique Express formulation gives a hand tight bond after only 30 minutes with full cure taking place after just 8 hours. To increase the curing speed, it is possible to apply a damp cloth to the wood. (Avoid too much water as this will have an adverse effect).
Clamping is not necessary other than to align and straighten joints.
Wood Max Express does not foam or drip, will not push components apart or continue to froth out of joints during curing, avoiding time consuming clean up.
Fills gaps of up to 4mm with pure adhesive rather than bubbles as is the case with polyurethane.
Any excess adhesive can be removed very easily as soon as the joint is aligned by using a scraper; part cured adhesive can be removed using a chisel or blade.
Wood Max Express contains no harmful isocyanates or solvents and therefore requires no hazard warning symbols on the tube.
UV and all weather resistant. (Sea)waterproof.
Can be sanded and painted over.
A+ Indoor Air Controlled rating with very low emissions into indoor air.
No shrinkage.
Light brown in colour.
Ideal for use with natural timbers and many other building materials.
Not to be confused with other MS or hybrid polymer adhesives/sealants which are used to ‘attach’ wood to other substrates. Griffon Wood Max Express is the new way to cleanly, safely and securely bond timber components so they become one – permanently!
