Laser receivers and detectors perform a simple but important task when used in conjunction with a line laser level or rotary laser level; and that is, to pick up a beam that is not clearly visible to the eye. Specifications of line or rotary lasers often state incredible working distances; what they don’t make clear is that although the laser is indeed capable of projecting a beam that far, they are not always easily seen by the human eye. This is particularly true when it comes to outside working, as regardless of whether the beam is red or green, the line will be invisible without the help of a laser detector or receiver.
Laser receivers can be used internally or externally and alert the user to the beam using audible signals, they make reference to the line on an LCD display allowing the operator to mark the surrounding area. Some receivers can work with red and green beams whereas others will only work with a specific colour or brand so pairing is important.
