Impact Drivers

All impact drivers feature a 1/4-inch hex quick-release chuck which is the universal standard fitting for screwdriver bits and many other power tool accessories. An impact driver’s mechanism delivers bursts of high turning torque which helps to reduce the chance of bit slippage when driving in screws and fixings. This dramatically reduces the pressure the operator has to apply at the back of the tool and therefore means fasteners can be inserted in hard to reach areas more easily. 

Unlike drilling machines which work at their highest torque in slower speeds, impact drivers deliver their highest torque at their fastest speed; some machines have a two or three-stage speed function to allow for high or low torque applications.

The impact mechanism only engages when the machine detects a load over a defined torque resistance, because impact drivers have a high ‘no load’ RPM it can make them a very fast drilling machine when used with smaller diameter drill bits. Cordless impact drivers can also be very effective in removing stubborn screws and smaller bolts.
