Arbortech Masonry Saws
The task of cutting masonry has always been a job for angle grinders equipped with a masonry cutting disc or diamond blade. The downside of a round blade is the overcutting that happens when you need to perform a deep cut; by virtue of circular shapes, the width of cut increases significantly the deeper you plunge the blade, which can be a problem both structurally and aesthetically.
A perfect example of overcutting would be removing a damaged brick from a wall. Cutting along the horizontal mortar joint doesn’t present much of a problem as the mortar is easily patched when a circular blade cuts beyond the damaged brick. However, in order to cut deep enough on the vertical mortar joint, it is impossible not to cut into the bricks above and below leaving an unsightly groove which cannot be disguised.
The unique Arbortech masonry saw avoids the problem as it does not work on the same principle as an angle grinder. Using two, tungsten carbide tipped blades situated side by side, these cutters advance through the material by scooping out tiny chips of the brick and mortar using an orbital action, this makes cutting quick and reduces very fine airborne dust. Arbortech masonry saws are ideal for cutting out tree roots, caulking on floor joints and cutting square holes or channels in medium to hard brick, aerated concrete block, fibreboard and composites.
Accessories for the Arbortech saw include General purpose and plunge blades. If you are a plumber, electrician or builder the Arbortech masonry saw could be the tool that saves you time and re-work, so why not visit one of our Protrade depots in Derby, Mansfield, Burton Upon Trent, Nottingham or Chesterfield and see if this machine works for you?
