Makita Guide Rail System
The Makita guide rail system is primarily used in conjunction with Makita cordless plunge saws and Makita electric plunge saws, although it can also be used with Makita routers by using an additional adaptor plate. Extruded from aluminium, the guide rail has a profile that correlates with the baseplate of the saw to allow easy movement forwards and backwards.
Perfectly straight cuts are made easy with virtually no set up time and a chip free finish is achieved with a sacrificial splinterguard that is attached to the rail. Extra long cuts are made possible by joining any number of Makita guide rails together using guide rail connector bars. In most applications Makita guide rails do not need to be clamped to the material being cut, however, guide rail clamps do form part of the Makita guide rail system and offer the safest and most secure method of cutting sheet materials, doors and timber.
Protecting your guide rail is essential and we always recommend that you store your guide rails in a Makita guide rail bag.
