Files & Wire Brushes
Files and wire brushes are hand tools that are predominantly used on metal to shape, deburr and remove surface contamination although both can be used on timber and some man made materials. Files use rows of teeth which run parallel to one another across the surface, in some instances double cut files have a diamond shaped pattern of teeth. Hand wire brushes may feature clearly defined rows of wire with this style offering an aggressive cleaning action and scratch pattern compared to densely packed wire configurations which are less abrasive to the surface.
