Taiga
The Taiga Tools brand was created in 2019 by Wim Pauwels; a product designer with a background of carpentry – specialising in custom interiors for both buildings and boats. Located right on the Artic Circle in Rovaniemi, Finland, the brand name came from a vast woodland area called The Taiga Forest.
Towards the end of 2020, Wim was offered an opportunity to work for another tool company based in Finland. He reluctantly decided to call time on his Taiga Tools business, in order to focus on his new role, and announced his intentions via social media. This decision was met with great disappointment – numerous craftsmen had become accustomed to his range of products, due to their time-saving benefits and unrivalled levels of accuracy.
Following incredible feedback and comments from users from all over the globe, Wim decided to continue with production of his flagship product – the Taiga Rail Square – finding an alternative local manufacturer that offered the same levels of precision and refinement. With production secured, Wim also took the opportunity to redesign the rail square – developing the second generation ‘hybrid’ model, which was expected to be available from April 2021. The latest Taiga Hybrid Rail Square is compatible with most guide rail profiles available on the market – fitting perfectly to all lengths of Festool, Makita, Triton, Evolution, Mafell, Bosch, Metabo and even the DeWalt profile guide rails.
