Elga
The Elga company was founded in 1938 by Carl Alfredson. As an enginer with two decades of experience in welding, Carl decided to embark upon creating a company that would manufacture high quality welding electrodes. In less than ten years this relatively new company had created a small range of electrodes that became market leading products.
Further expansion led to new manufacturing plants in Sweden and a partnership with the established welder manufacturer Miller electric enabled Elga to increase its range of welding electrodes and develop new products for key industrial sectors – such as off-shore. Elga is now part of the ITW group, one of the largest manufacturers of welding equipment and consumables in the world. With access its own research and development centres throughout the world, Elga continues to innovate and develop welding products and filler materials that increase production, minimise emissions and reduce post weld finishing.
Protrade stock and supply a select range of Elga welding rods which can be used in workshop and site applications with features such as self detaching slag and minimum spatter.
