What’s happening with Toughbuilt?
Protrade took on the Toughbuilt brand of products at the start of 2022. We’ve gone on to become one of the largest Toughbuilt distributors in the UK, stocking the majority of the Toughbuilt products at depot locations in Derby, Burton-on-Trent, Nottingham, Mansfield and Chesterfield, as well as the Central Distribution Centre for next day delivery to most parts of the UK.
ToughBuilt is designed and developed in the USA and originally came to the construction market with an innovative range of tool storage, ClipTech pouches and belts, kneepads, sawhorses, workbenches, saw stands and roller stands. Hand tools were added to the product lineup in 2020, and the latest innovation has been their new StackTech storage system, which hit the US market at the end of 2023, with a view to arriving in the UK in 2024.
Demand for StackTech has far outstripped supply, significantly exceeding sales expectations. The surge in investment and sales in the US has led to growing pains for the global business, resulting in supply chain delays. A number of popular Toughbuilt items have been out of stock with most UK distributors, leading to frustrations with stalwart Toughbuilt users.
To mitigate delays, Protrade have worked closely with Toughbuilt UK and made an unprecedented decision to order three full containers of stock to be delivered directly from the Toughbuilt manufacturing facilities – due to land in the UK towards the end of December 2024. This approach helps alleviate the Toughbuilt backorder situation and significantly speeds up the supply chain.
The good news is that we will finally get to a position where there will be plentiful stocks, very soon!

When is Toughbuilt StackTech coming to the UK? After initially expected to land in the UK in early 2024, launch has been delayed until the first half of 2025. Protrade will be stocking the StackTech system, so register below to be notified when it finally lands.
